This class meets Monday - Friday from 8:45 A M - 12:15 PM. The curriculum used throughout the year is aligned with th e Indiana State Standards. It is a collection of fun\, interactive mater ials used by hundreds of creative kindergarten teachers across the count ry.This includes: Interactive math and literacy stations\, Large-group m ath instruction\, Social Studies\, Guided reading circle with early read ers and sight words\, Writer's workshops\, Reading comprehension review\ , Science exploration\, Library visits\, Chapel\, Physical Education\, a nd Music.Optional: \; after-school monthly programs (at an additiona l cost)\, Science Buddies\, and Art Buddies.By the end of the school yea r\, Kindergarten students should have the reading\, writing\, and math s kills needed to enter 1st grade the following fall. \; No standardiz ed testing is required during the school year.Our Kindergarten Prep prog ram is designed for children who could attend Kindergarten this year\, b ut parents feel they are not ready academically\, emotionally\, or socia lly. This class meets Tuesday\, Wednesday\, and Thursday from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. By age\, kids in this class must attend Kindergarten in the fal l of the following year. Children in this class should already be 5 year s old. Kindergarten Prep is a class designed for students who already kn ow most letters and letter sounds.Curriculum will include: Using inventi ve spelling\, Finding letter sounds at the beginning\, middle\, and end\ , Continued practice of letter sounds\, Sight words\, Journal writing\, beginning math skills\, Literacy\, Science &\; Social Studies activit ies\, and eating lunch at school in a timely manner.Pre-K Classes are fo r our 4 and 5-year-olds who could be eligible for Kindergarten the follo wing fall. \; This class is 4 days a week (Mon - Thurs) from 9AM - n oon. Children meet in small classes with a teacher and an aide. The curr iculum is planned around themes that encourage social interaction\, lang uage development\, creativity\, and kindergarten-readiness skills.All st udents participate in these special classes as well: Spanish Class\, Cha pel\, Daily Snack time\, Children's Library\, Physical Education\, Music \, Art &\; Science ActivitiesPre-School is for 2\, 3\, and younger 4- year-oldsolds\, and they meet 2 days per week from 9AM-Noon.
